About the Show

The Buck Starts Here

The Resident on Wikipedia

Hello, people! Welcome to my countercultural online video show. My mission is to buck the system of the mainstream media as it now exists, through social commentary, videos about political issues, interviews with grassroots movement and alternative types of people, media news story coverage, and lots more good stuff.

I think it’s good, at least, and much-needed: it’s about time real people started talking about really important issues and our popular culture stopped sucking so bad. Maybe if we got our society’s head out of the celebrity-worshipping sand, we’d actually start to get out of this economic recession (Yes, I’m talking to you, fellow Americans.).

Throughout the show, I try to ask the questions you’d want answered and talk about issues you think are important, so please interact on the site through video comments, the forum community, or plain old email. Join the fight against consumerist mind-numbing, tell me what you want to talk about, and let’s talk about THAT for a change.

The grassroots show started online in 2000 and moved to New York City TV a couple years later. It now continues to run weekly in both media. I also have a recurring role as an activist reporter on  “G Word,” which airs nationally every Monday through Thursday at 7PM on Discovery’s new channel, PlanetGreen.

Since it’s inception, “The Resident” has received many credits, including:

•    Named One of the Best Internet Personalities by Yahoo!
•    One of YouTube’s All-Time Most Subscribed
•    Featured frequently on YouTube and Yahoo! Video homepages
•    TV Guide Vlog Award, 06/2006
•    Guest Speaker at YouTube’s Business Development and Sales Conference
•    Panelist (“Digital Distribution”) at NATPE’s LA TV Fest, 2007
•    Provides regular segments to CNN, FoxNews, and DirecTV
•    Panelist on Roland Martin CNN special for the CNN/YouTube Democratic Presidential Debates
